How To Get A Waitress Job With No Experience?

I did work in the kitchen of a restaurant for the past 4 years. I recently left to attend University and I wanted to find a server job while I attend school. I have no serving experience, although I did have to take orders over the phone as we did take out as well as in house dining. I have my Smart Serve and I am old enough to serve alcohol. How do I go about finding a job as a waitress when most of the places hiring all say experience is necessary?

tell any employer at interviews what you did as far as working with food, and tell them you are willing to learn anything else you need to know.
