How to be a good waitress?

I recently turned 16 and have started looking for a job. I'd like to be a waitress only I'm nervous about getting stuff wrong. I know I just need to be more confident about stuff but I'd be so worried about dropping drinks or something like that. I know that after a bit of practice and getting used to it I would be fine. Anyway, any tips on how to stay organised and calm? Thanks.

This is the most extensive list of good advice for servers I have ever seen.

The calm and organized part is all up to you.

I used to be an awesome waitress. Be friendly and smile no matter what (that can get hard). Make sure you don't hover but keep an eye on the table, if a drink gets low and the meal isn't halfway over refill it. If the customer starts looking around at any point make sure you go directly to the table..After serving a dish give everyone about 5 mintues to taste then check to make sure everything is okay. And dont be ashamed to say hey I'm new and I'm alittle nervous.

I am a waitress.. .its not hard. sometimes it can be demanding (People all want something at the same time) but just take it table by table. Don't expect everyone to be nice. Alot of people are cruel for no reason... Half the time it is not you that causes any trouble or does anything wrong... People look for free things everywhere... Just write down everything people say... Read it back to them.... And do what they ask... if you are nice and friendly to them, it will pay for itself. Even if they are mean to you. never take it personally. You will learn that alot of people do not know how to time either...

Ok first of all most restaurants require waitresses to be 20 and up. Second of all, you can only be a waitress if you have experience which you have none. Third, seasonal hiring is remotely over. Employers are not hiring as of now anymore. Bad time to turn 16.

Don't be so worried. :)

Hide under the table. ;)
