I think you mean, "How long would it take before I know if I got the job?", unless you had an interview.

It would depend on "how" you applied for a job. Did you respond to an advertisement? Did you just fill out an application? Did you have an interview?

Most places don't respond to applications, even if they were solicited, unless it is to call you in for an interview.

If you did have an interview, you should have already sent a "Thank You" follow-up. If you haven't done it yet, do it now.

After an interview, it can take a week or two before a decision is made.

I would wait about 3 to 4 days because it does take a second and they don't want to be bothered/rushed. If they are hiring-key word hiring not just taking apps- I would say 3 to 4 days. Most places will tell you at the end of the interview if you got the job or not in fast food and stuff like that. If you are interviewing to be a college professor or something with a degree/professional level then you may have to sweat it out a little bit longer.

It depends on whether they currently have any openings... wait a couple days and call and ask the manager the status of your application.

you should touch them in case you truly need this job. they might obtain a lot of resumes daily and that they does no longer touch you in the event that they think of which you're actually not considered one of those guy or woman they might desire to hire. in spite of the undeniable fact that, you are able to continually attempt to furnish them a call. you obtain no longer something to lose!

5 minutes to never. if you haven't heard anything in a week, contact the HR manager yourself. don't forget to send a "thank you" note.
